SASHA Feeds the Fame Machine in “The Famous Cannibal”

Let’s talk about SASHA. If you haven’t clocked her yet, she’s the one who lit up XO, Kitty on Netflix, and The Pitt on Max—but now, she’s stepped out of the screen and into the pop arena with the wicked, glitter-soaked debut The Famous Cannibal. And she did not come to play.

This song feels like if M.I.A. took a Bollywood detour, snuck into a haunted club in the Lower East Side, and never came back out. It’s dance pop with fangs. A little Bollywood sparkle, a little downtown Manhattan grime. A lot of sass. It’s like watching a femme fatale twirl under a disco ball—she’s dangerous, hypnotic, and knows exactly what she’s doing.

SASHA plays the role of a fame-drunk diva who’s equal parts seductress and soul-thief—and the irony is so delicious. One second she’s purring “lemme suck your soul baby,” the next she’s deadpan, “I’m all glitter no gold.” Tell me that doesn’t hit a little too close after a 3am scroll through your ex’s Insta and a bottle of prosecco.

And I don’t know about you, but the line “Hollywood wants me to eat the world”? Girl, I felt that. It’s that pressure to always be performing, always be perfect, always be hungrier than the next girl. I’ve been there—slipping on my best “cool girl” face just to get through a date where I’m doing all the sparkling and he’s just… dull. That’s the real cannibalism.

But beneath the glitter and cheek, there’s a gut-punch of truth: Hollywood has always demanded that women be consumable, not complex. It builds you up just to devour you, strips you of softness and sells your shine. SASHA doesn’t just call it out—she weaponizes it.

She turns all that pressure into power. She’s not asking for your approval—she’s already eaten it, spit out the bones, and strutted onto the dancefloor in glitter heels and a blood-red lip. She’s not a victim of fame’s bite—she is the bite. “Feeding on your broken thoughts while my conscience eats me up”—yes, queen, collapse the façade.

And don’t even get me started on that chorus—“I’m the famous cannibal baby / See me out at night / I show off my animal baby.” It’s pure main character energy. The kind you blast while fixing your eyeliner with shaky hands before heading out to flirt, dance, and maybe ruin a man’s life or two.

This debut track is a warning. SASHA‘s coming for your playlists and maybe your soul, too. And we’re kind of into it.

So throw this track on next time you’re getting ready to go out. Pour the rosé, smudge your lipstick and plaster your smokey eyes on just right, and remember: you’re not glittering gold; you’re the mother fucking cannibal.
