Jacquie Roar Brings Beer, Boots & Chaos with “That’s the Spirit”

The beer’s cold, the tailgate’s down, and I’ve already lost one boot in the bonfire pit. That’s the spirit, girl!

There’s something about Spring nights in the middle of nowhere—the kind of night where the playlist is blasting, the cooler’s stocked, and nobody’s going home until somebody’s making out in the back of a pickup. That’s exactly where That’s the Spirit by Jacquie Roar hits. Hard. Like a shot of whiskey chased with a wink and a dare.

I first heard this track half-buzzed in a bar with my best girls after a shitty week. One of us had just dumped her loser ex, another had a “don’t ask” Tinder story, and I was three tequilas deep with my eyeliner already smudged to hell. And then the speakers lit up with “We rough / We tough / We rowdy / We loud / We drink / We party”—and just like that, we were back. On tables, in boots, screaming the words like some scene from Coyote Ugly. Every girl in the bar had that look in her eye. We weren’t just singing—we were claiming something.

Jacquie Roar doesn’t just sing a party—she starts one. Co-written with hitmakers Bobby Tomberlin (Blake Shelton, Faith Hill) and Curt Gibbs (Dylan Scott, Rodney Atkins), That’s the Spirit is pure gasoline for your wild side. It’s tailgate gospel. Moonshine manifesto. The kind of track that makes you slam your phone down mid-text and yell “HELL YES” to the night ahead. “Don’t you dare put that tailgate up / Let that moonshine in your solo cup / That’s the stuff, raise ’em up, cheers to us.” You know who you’re texting that to—and what’s going down if he shows up.

Jacquie’s vocals are pure fire. Full-throttle. No mercy. She hits you like thunder in a corset and never lets up. It’s giving Gretchen Wilson raised on Monster Energy and bad decisions—and I am here for it. There’s grit in her voice, a rebel spirit that’s equal parts wild child and warrior woman. She’s not trying to impress your boyfriend. She’s the reason he’s ignoring your texts.

She calls it “the ultimate summer bop for when you have the music up and windows down… The sun is out, and you are the party.” And yeah, I felt that in my head, heart, and below the waist. I’ve been that girl. The one dancing in a crop top on a truck bed with mascara tears and a “fuck it” smile. And baby, that’s the spirit.

This track isn’t about perfection—it’s about letting go. About showing up in ripped denim and dirty boots, drink in hand, heart still healing but wide open anyway. It fits perfectly into Jacquie’s streak of bangers like Bad Habit, Pass the Pain, and Big Mood. She’s already pulling in nearly half a million streams, and she’s not slowing down. She’s just catching her stride.

And if you’re still sleeping on Jacquie Roar, let me catch you up: She earned a Four-Chair Turn on The Voice with her fierce-as-hell cover of “Here for the Party,” clawed her way to the Voice Season 24 finale, and didn’t miss a beat. In 2024, she stormed CMA Fest, lit up the Opry Plaza, and tore the roof off Whiskey Jam. Then she made history—performing with Jelly Roll at Oregon State Penitentiary in the first yard concert in over twenty years. That’s not just badass. That’s iconic.

Whether she’s singing to lifers behind bars or queens of the dancefloor, Jacquie Roar brings the same raw truth: You don’t need permission to go loud. You are already the main event.

So if your summer is already looking a little too tame before it even starts, pour something strong. Grab your favorite partner in crime. And crank That’s the Spirit until the neighbors call the cops.

Because if you ask me? That’s exactly the fucking spirit.
