Being a girl with goals is cute until every win immediately starts asking what’s next and your vision board starts behaving like an unpaid manager. Hanna Andréa turns that overachiever spiral into ‘Pinnacles’, cheery alt-pop with a big-screen glow that makes burnout sound suspiciously pretty. The music puts all that anxiety in a sparkly little dress, with the bass keeping her moving while strings make the whole thing feel bigger than the panic in her head. The bigger the pressure gets, the bigger the song gets with her, which makes all that burnout sound way prettier than it has any right to. She can be quietly unraveling and the song still sounds like it has somewhere fabulous to be. That bright movement matters because Hanna is singing from inside the moment when ambition stops being fun and starts running your entire fucking schedule. I love a five-year plan, but if the bitch starts making me feel guilty for sleeping eight hours, we need boundaries.
The first thing Hanna gets brutally right is how being impressive can turn into something you have to maintain for everybody else. She sings “Perfect was a place it would be a prison / The show but not the soul / I smile and play the role / I’m too / Young to feel this old what am I missin’.” She has done everything that should make her feel successful and somehow ended up exhausted by the version of herself everybody expects to keep seeing. That is such an ugly little trick of ambition because eventually doing well can become the minimum instead of something you are allowed to enjoy. Girl, if winning starts feeling like another assignment, the assignment may be full of shit.

Achievement gets mean once every success becomes the minimum. “Pinnacles / ‘Cause if I don’t / It feels like falling / Climbing fast / ‘Bout to collapse / But they’re just watching.” Every milestone immediately becomes the baseline for another one, while everybody around her sees progress and misses how much of herself she is burning through to keep producing it. That is the nightmare of being the high-achieving girl everybody applauds, because all that approval can make admitting you are miserable feel embarrassingly ungrateful. Nothing kills the buzz of a win faster than your brain giving you thirty seconds to enjoy it before assigning the next fucking mountain.
Social media makes the whole thing nastier because outside approval is supposed to feel rewarding and somehow keeps arriving emotionally empty. When Hanna sings “I scroll through empty praise / I’m lost inside the haze, and if / They could see my face, would it make a difference?” she gets at the weird loneliness of having a screen full of compliments without feeling genuinely known by the people giving them. That is such a Gen Z mindfuck because you can have an audience all day and still feel completely alone once the phone goes dark. Validation is basically a snack dressed up as dinner, and some of us have been trying to survive on notifications for years.

Hanna Andréa already had a full album out before most people her age have figured out what the hell they want for lunch, with Stranded in the Middle arriving in 2024 after a childhood split between Narvik in northern Norway and Oklahoma. Music also shares space in her life with acting and musical theatre, and she eventually brought those worlds together by writing songs for the Shakespeare-inspired MUSE project. Now ‘Pinnacles’ sits inside her 2026 Braveheart era, which feels pretty fitting for a girl writing about ambition while apparently refusing to choose one creative lane herself. I respect the commitment to having several dreams at once because one identity sounds suspiciously limiting.
I am keeping the vision board, obviously, but ‘Pinnacles’ makes me want to stop treating every dream like a deadline. Hanna gives the overachiever girls the reality check we probably needed because the goal should make your life bigger and leave enough of you around to actually enjoy it. If I finally get the thing I have been obsessing over, I would personally like one cocktail and a little fucking applause before my brain invents something else to chase.
