Giole Marrino and Anana’s ‘Gazebo’ Finds the Sweet Spot Between Desire and Daydream

Falling for someone can make your body feel drunk before you’ve had a damn thing. Giole Marrino and Anana catch that first rush on ‘Gazebo’, when attraction has your heart floating somewhere above the room while the rest of you has decided the bed is a perfectly good place to spend the day. There’s desire in that contradiction, especially when staying wrapped around somebody sounds considerably more appealing than whatever the fuck is happening outside. The song lets that feeling linger. Nobody needs to rush summer when the person you want is already beside you.

The production on ‘Gazebo’ gives that laziness a wicked little groove. Electro swing mixes swing and jazz influences with contemporary electronic dance music, often pulling house and hip-hop into the same party. Giole keeps his version loose as hell, pushing bass and guitar underneath vintage swing samples while his flute floats above everything. The piano carries a Latin-jazz bounce, and the brass slips in without crowding Anana’s vocal. Giole recorded the guitar and flute himself and handled production, while Anana supplied the lyrics and vocals, which gives the whole thing the chemistry of two musicians clearly enjoying the same flirtation.

The lyrics barely need decoding because the fantasy is wonderfully simple. Anana sings, “My gazebo, it is small, but it suits me fine / Like a cocoon to a butterfly / I am reborn and I can fly away / But I wanna stay in my bed, with my babe.” That last line is the good shit. Freedom is sitting right there and she would rather stay tangled up with him. Later she shifts the setting without changing the appetite: “My bungalow in the jungle, oh, it suits me fine / Like a cocoon to a butterfly / Might be a looney cause I can fly away / But i wanna stay in my bed, with my babe.” The butterfly imagery gives the song its weightless feeling while that bed keeps pulling everything back toward skin, sheets and somebody worth staying underneath them for.

Giole Marrino is a classically trained Serbian flutist who graduated from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in 2009 and later began teaching flute. He picked up guitar after graduating, started performing with a band around 2010 and moved into composing and production for licensing in 2015. His 2025 debut album Someplace folds funk and electronic music into his jazz-swing instincts, which makes the playful genre-mixing on ‘Gazebo’ feel very much like his kind of trouble.

Anana is a Serbian singer and drummer who also writes music and performs live with her band. Her collaboration with Giole already has history behind it, including 2026 releases ‘Nice Is Ugly’ and ‘NightLatch’. She wrote the composition and lyrics for ‘Nice Is Ugly’, while credits for ‘NightLatch’ identify her as the vocalist, so she brings plenty of her own creative ass to this partnership.

‘Gazebo’ understands how sexy the beginning can be when nobody is trying to force the next chapter. The bass keeps moving while the song itself seems perfectly happy staying under the covers, letting that first ridiculous rush of wanting somebody stretch a little longer. Summer can wait outside. If the bed is comfortable and your babe is still in it, fuck flying away.

Giole Marrino and Anana's 'Gazebo' catches that first ridiculous rush of falling for someone, then makes staying in bed feel like the smartest plan. Electro swing slips into a deep funk groove while Anana keeps the whole thing soft and sexy.
