“Feel High” by Alyra Dolce Is Your New Happy Place

I wasn’t supposed to be doing anything that night. No drinks. No boys. Just a face mask, leftover Thai, and a sad attempt to Marie Kondo my bedroom. But somehow, there I was in my pajamas, lying upside down on my bed with a bottle of wine in one hand and my phone in the other, doing that thing where you just accidentally fall into a late-night scroll spiral.

That’s when I hit play on Alyra Dolce’s “Feel High,” and… fuck. Game over.

From the first few bars, I felt like I’d slipped into a warm bubble bath made of memory. You know those nights that are so perfect they feel fake in retrospect? The kind where your skin still tingles from the way they looked at you, touched you, whispered some reckless promise into your ear that made you laugh because you wanted to believe it? That’s this song. On repeat. Set to vibey R&B-pop production that feels like glitter melted over silk.

The hook? “Feel high, stop, hit rewind / I play it all back when I wanna feel high.” Baby, yes. She gets it. This is the soundtrack to every moment I’ve spent closing my eyes in the back of a Lyft, replaying the way he kissed my shoulder before pulling away or the way we danced in my kitchen at 2 AM, half-drunk, fully clothed but still somehow naked. You know the moments. The ones you loop in your brain not just because they happened but because you need them to happen again.

And let’s talk lyrics. Alyra’s writing is like reading someone’s flirty late-night texts with zero shame and complete confidence. “He knows that without him in my life I’m a mess… Come pick me up and I’ll wear that dress that you like.” I’ve definitely sent a version of that text before, maybe not sober, maybe not smart—but damn was it hot. There’s something so addictive about the way she leans into that longing. It’s not desperate. It’s decadent. It’s the fantasy you choose to indulge in, even when reality doesn’t measure up.

The second verse hits even deeper: “Don’t worry about the people trying to put us to the test, they can do what they like / It’s alright, when you’re holding me in the middle of the night.” It’s giving ride-or-die energy in the sexiest way. That kind of connection where the rest of the world could burn, and you’d still be wrapped in each other, whispering nonsense and laughing until your lips find better things to do.

This is only Alyra Dolce’s second single, but let me be clear: this girl is on some main pop girl shit already. “Feel High” is exactly the kind of track you want on your “Drunk in Lust” playlist. It’s light-hearted, yes, but it doesn’t shy away from intimacy. It plays like a looped love scene in your head, the kind you turn to when the real thing just isn’t enough—or isn’t there at all.

By the time she hits the outro—“Stop, hit rewind / Play it back in my mind”—I was already fantasizing about someone I probably shouldn’t text, in a dress I definitely shouldn’t wear again, planning a night I’ll want to relive until I can’t remember if it even happened. But that’s the beauty of Alyra’s sound—it lets you live inside the fantasy, no apologies. No need to justify why you’re still thinking about him or why you’re romanticizing a moment that probably wasn’t as perfect as you remember. Alyra gives you permission to hit rewind—not to dwell, but to feel good. To feel sexy. To feel high.

And really, isn’t that what the best pop-R&B does? It doesn’t ask you to be rational. It just slips under your t-shirt, kisses the back of your neck, and whispers, “It’s okay to stay here a little longer.”

So yeah, I’m replaying him in my head tonight. And tomorrow night. And probably the night after that. But this time, it’s got a soundtrack—and her name is Alyra Dolce.
