I like control right up until I meet a man who makes giving it up sound filthy. There is a point in attraction where I stop caring who’s driving because being careful suddenly feels like the least interesting thing I could do with my night. I have climbed into cars with men I wanted badly enough to let the destination become somebody else’s problem, and that little loss of control can be hot as fuck when the chemistry is already doing ninety. Ego Inc.’s ‘Yours To Kill’ takes that impulse and stomps on the accelerator. Ego Inc. vocalist Sara Ryan wants the reckless version of the ride, with the headlights off and enough speed to make being careful feel fucking boring. Sometimes the sexiest thing a man can do is make me forget I was planning to behave.
The production is pure forward motion, with bright synths riding a punchy dance-pop drive. A darker new-wave undertow keeps the polish from getting too sweet, and the whole track feels built for trouble at speed. The vocal rides that rush without overplaying the danger, and Sara sounds turned on by where this is going because the risk has to feel fucking fun or none of the fantasy works.

Sara hands over control almost immediately, and there’s something horny as hell about how enthusiastically she does it. “Let go off the wheel and turn the headlights off / Let go, let go / I’m Ready for the ride with no seatbelt on / I’m ready, I’m ready.” She wants the safety mechanisms gone because surrender is part of what’s turning her on. I know that mood. Sometimes wanting somebody badly enough makes being responsible feel like bringing paperwork into the bedroom.
Speed actually has a purpose once she admits “Push the fucking pedal through the floor / Don’t you dare hit the breaks I wanna go fast / So I no longer see the red flags.” Sara sees the danger clearly enough to know speed might blur it. That’s a much sexier kind of bad judgment because she is actively helping desire beat common sense. She wants the rush loud enough to drown out the part of her that already knows better.
The title gets considerably filthier once the chorus arrives. “Baby I’ll be yours to kill / I’m ready to die for the thrill / Your touch is giving me chills, I love it, I love it.” Yours to kill is surrender with consequences attached. She is giving him the power to wreck her because giving him that much access is part of the turn-on. His touch seals the deal physically and brings the danger right against her skin.
That willingness to be wrecked keeps feeding on adrenaline. Sara sings “Adrenaline is running up my spine / Running, running / Running red lights with my ride and die,” and “ride and die” pushes the fantasy somewhere darker than a cute Bonnie-and-Clyde reference. She has already decided that going down with him sounds better than slowing the fuck down without him. The risk has become intimate because she trusts the feeling enough to let it hurt her.

Then “I love it, I love it” keeps coming back, and that repetition matters because she sounds increasingly committed to the very thing that could fuck her up. Sara keeps pressing forward every time the chorus returns. She chooses the thrill after acknowledging what it can cost her, which is where ‘Yours To Kill’ gets vulnerable underneath all the speed and sexual swagger. Sara is basically saying you have enough of me to do damage now, and I’m still moving closer.
Ego Inc. are a Swedish-Finnish duo made up of Swedish singer-songwriter Sara Ryan and Finnish producer Aleksi Liski. The duo debuted with ‘Mantra’ in May and followed it with ‘RIOT’ in July. CloudKid released ‘Yours To Kill’ on August 21 as their third single, and at 2:10 it wastes very little time getting from attraction to emotional vehicular manslaughter. Two minutes and ten seconds is apparently all Sara needs to make losing control sound indecent.
I know the feeling of wanting somebody enough to stop caring where the night is going. ‘Yours To Kill’ turns giving up control into foreplay, which is why the song feels so fucking charged even before Sara gets to his touch. She wants the ride fast enough to drown out the sensible voice in her head and keeps choosing acceleration every time the chorus comes back. If I’m already halfway out of my dress while the chemistry is doing ninety, asking me to make the responsible choice is frankly terrible timing. Ego Inc. can keep the headlights off because I’m staying in the fucking car.
