Dulce’s Wanted Is a Sultry, Pulse-Racing Confession of Queer Desire

Up-and-coming R&B diva Dulce dropped her second single today, and it is a scorcher! “Wanted is all about my first queer experience after coming out,” she explains. “Imagine the mix of gay panic, excitement, and pure desire. I was terrified but ready to risk it all!”

We all know that feeling of instant attraction. It has physical urgency and emotional electricity. It’s like a rush of heat in your body. Your mind becomes obsessed with them – how they move, smell and speak. Being near them creates this delicious anticipation.

Dulce channels those feelings in Wanted, a slickly produced track of sultry R&B vibes that will take your breath away.

The song’s lyrics are unapologetically direct. Lines like “Already done stripped you down, no you ain’t gotta hide / skip the conversation pull my panties to the side” waste no time in setting the tone: this is about immediacy, surrendering, and fully embracing lust without hesitation.

But Wanted isn’t just about physical desire—it’s about the thrill of breaking boundaries, the tension of stepping into something new. Dulce acknowledges this conflict with “thought a lot ’bout it, guess I’m gon hafta break my rules,” a lyric that adds juice to the song’s narrative. Hesitation and hunger, a tug of war. A moment of truth before you jump in. We all feel it—whether it’s personal boundaries, societal norms or self imposed limits, the song is about the thrill, terror and freedom of acting on instinct.

She also plays with power dynamics in attraction, flipping the script between pursuit and surrender. The lines “Tell your friends that you leaving with me / Put your phone on DND” put her in control, while “hope you wanna be wanted / If you want it I want it” flips it back, revealing a vulnerability beneath the bravado. It’s that tension—between control and submission, anticipation and release—that makes Wanted so intoxicating.

And then there’s the nod to classic R&B sensuality: “We drippin’ through the sheets / Love how you grip on me / Jodeci feigning.” A reference to the legendary ’90s slow-jam kings Jodeci is no accident—Dulce is placing herself in that lineage, crafting a track that simmers with the same kind of sultry intensity. She’s bringing old-school R&B sensuality into a fresh, modern queer lens, making Wanted a song about attraction and a statement of self-assurance and sexual liberation.

Wanted is more than just a sexy track—it’s a song about stepping into desire without shame, about craving and being craved in return. It’s bold, it’s hot, and most importantly, it’s real.
