I found an old box of tour posters while packing my apartment last year and immediately lost half an hour to a version of myself who thought men with guitars were a personality type worth losing sleep and several layers of dignity over. I was kneeling on the floor in black underwear with a glass of cheap red wine beside me because apparently I pack for a move the way other women set up a séance. There he was. Some pretty frontman from a band I swore had changed my life stared out from glossy paper with all that fake backstage menace. Adult me knew better. Adult me also remembered that a guitar on the right body can make common sense start slipping its bra strap down. The first musician I ever went home with as a grown woman had mid conversation and a genuinely dangerous tongue. He also had enough big-dick confidence to make me forgive the playlist. Terrible judgment. Fantastic cardio. Cloudy June’s ‘jAGUAR’ rolls straight through that filthy little zone where fantasy gets a driver’s license and starts grinding against the speaker. Some songs sound like they should come with condoms in the packaging. This one needs a whole damn drawer.
The production comes in raw enough to leave fingerprints. Cloudy June says her third self-produced release started in her bedroom at 5 a.m. while she was “playing guitar and reminiscing about rockstar crushes I’d had throughout my life,” and you can hear that hour in the track. The acoustic guitar keeps that old-string scrape while the drums punch hard enough to make the space between your thighs start voting against your brain. Everything feels turned on by its own rough edges, which works because Cloudy wanted the track raw and hard enough to leave a mark. That is such a smart fucking choice because polish would kill the craving. The Fender Jaguar reference gives the song its dirty little machine heart, while the classic race car imagery keeps everything revving. It sounds bedroom-made in the sexiest way. Close enough to feel sweaty. That goddamn production makes you wonder why the hell your standards only collapse around people who own pedals. ‘jAGUAR’ follows you ruined me but it was fun, a project born after a relationship ended and the industry did what the industry does, which is test your trust in your own instincts until you want to throw your laptop into traffic. This track is Cloudy taking the controls back with a dirty grin.
From the first hook, subtlety has already been kicked out of the car. Cloudy sings “Want you to kiss me like a rockstar / Hands on my neck like your guitar / You can play me, play me / Like a jaguar.” That is a woman looking at a musician and turning desire into arrangement. Mouth first. Neck next. The instrument metaphor is already sweating. She is the one choosing the fantasy and deciding how hard it gets to touch her. A big dick and a guitar can make a woman act very educated about tone. Unfortunately. Cloudy leans into that delusion with her eyes open. The word “play” is doing the sluttiest work here. She wants to be handled and tuned until the sound comes out right, and your horny ass understands the assignment immediately. Put that on a tour poster and send it to my therapist.

She admits the risk and keeps her foot down – “a little crazy / That’s how I like it / I know it’s dangerous / But I won’t fight it / Cause when you walk in the room / I’m falling right into you.” Here the teenage poster crush starts acting grown. She clocks the danger and still wants the ride. I respect a woman who reads the warning label and signs the receipt. Some attractions feel medically inadvisable before anybody takes their pants off, and that is usually when the night gets interesting. Cloudy delivers it with a moody alt-pop smirk that says she already knows the aftermath will be a fucking group chat crime scene. Attraction can make a smart woman stupid in the hips. This song gets that.
Cloudy stops flirting around the thought and says the filthy part out loud. “Want you to fuck me like a porn star / Make my heart race like a sports car / Baby drive me, drive me / Like a jaguar.” The metaphor barely bothers getting dressed here. Good. Hunger looks hot when a woman stops pretending she is supposed to nibble. She wants the kiss and the fuck. She wants the whole sweaty scenario with the ignition left running. A porn star line usually turns corny fast. Cloudy keeps it dirty and female-owned, which matters because the line belongs to her fully. It carries the confidence of an orgasm arriving before the decision-making department clocks in. The hook understands a good fuck can make a woman briefly believe in God and ignore parking tickets. Some songs make you dance. Some songs make you want somebody’s hand around your throat a little. ‘jAGUAR’ parks right there and leaves the engine on.
By the second verse, the obsession has a warning label. “They say your name like / It’s a warning / You’re a fever / And I caught it / This dirty craving for you / Is worse than I ever knew.” The warning is half the turn-on. The fever line gives the song that sick little thrill of wanting someone everybody else has already flagged as trouble. I’ve caught that fever and pretended hydration counted as healing. Big yikes for my dignity. Huge win for the story. Cloudy sings “dirty craving” with the calm of someone who knows desire can embarrass you and still feel worth it. That is the shit. Sometimes the body wants the person who would be a disaster at brunch and devastating after midnight.
Once the adrenaline takes over, Cloudy lets the fantasy get possessive. “Cause Iove the adrenaline / Know you’re the next big thing / But now you’re mine / And I am higher than I’ve ever been / We could do anything / So baby drive.” I am leaving “Iove” as written because lyric sheets have their own chaos and honestly it fits the fever. The possession in that “now you’re mine” line is delicious. Now the poster comes off the wall and starts breathing close enough to ruin your plans. Cloudy said the song plays with “strange, intense obsessions with idealized versions of people you’ve seen on TV” and the idea that someone holding a Jaguar “can save you.” Preach, bitch. Somebody had to say it. We all had the crush who looked better under stage lights than daylight. The funny part is how the crush can become physical and stay unreal. You can get the fuck and the orgasm and still chase the version you invented before they ever walked into your life. That is the dangerous little engine inside ‘jAGUAR.’ It knows the fantasy is fake and floors it anyway.

Her catalog has already pulled a committed audience across Europe and North America. The sound moves through electro-pop and indie edges, with darker rock waiting under the gloss. That matters here because ‘jAGUAR’ never feels isolated from the rest of Cloudy’s world. Desire keeps brushing up against self-destruction, and the hooks stay direct enough to grab you by the hips. The writing has the filthy self-awareness of a woman who knows fantasy can be embarrassing as hell and still worth following home.
Cloudy June is the Berlin-based German-Cuban alt-pop artist born Claudia Terry Verdecia, and her backstory has actual teeth. She started writing songs as a kid, picked up guitar early, then spent her teenage years fronting a death metal band after Arch Enemy cracked her brain open. Hot little plot twist. That metal era still sits under the gloss, which is why her pop has bite instead of sounding like sanitized playlist bait. After first releasing music as Cloudy Verdecia, she sharpened into Cloudy June and started making queer alt-pop with sex and a hook that knows how to behave badly. “FU In My Head” pushed her into a wider international audience, but the current chapter feels more in control and a hell of a lot more dangerous. After Crazy Woman and you ruined me but it was fun, she is stepping deeper into production herself, with “jAGUAR” marking her third self-produced release and dragging the rock-girl shit back into the room. Bedroom-made, self-directed, horny for a guitar tone. Very healthy. Very Cloudy June. Fucking obviously.
I threw those old posters out during the move. Very mature. Very healed. Then I heard ‘jAGUAR’ and remembered why I kept them for so long. A rockstar crush is embarrassing because it knows where the horny and the hopeful overlap. Cloudy June drags that old crush into her bedroom at 5 a.m. and makes it sweat over rough strings and drums. The teenage version of me wanted to be saved by a guitarist. Adult me knows the better fantasy. Let him drive for the length of the song. Keep the keys in my hand.
