Chxrry22’s ‘Just Like Me’ Is a Seductive Power Play—Flipping the Game on Love and Loyalty

When TLC dropped Creep in 1994, they likely had no idea what floodgates they were opening. The blunt message to their lovers – if you cheat, so will I – clearly resonated with women because it’s become a part of modern stiletto feminism. In her new song Just Like Me, Chxrry22 doesn’t just say it, she lives it with seductive, self-assured swagger.

From the start Chxrry22 is in control, playfully calling out the double standards of modern relationships. “I like to keep it clean, white tee / But I like to do my dirt low key” she sings with a sly grin, flipping the script on the R&B love song. She recognizes the game her lover is playing—but she’s two steps ahead. “He think that I don’t know I’m not the only one / You know I like ’em just like me.” Her confident, almost teasing vocal performance adds to the track’s undeniable charm.

The song’s chorus, “I guess I like ‘em just like me,” doubles as a mantra of unapologetic self-awareness. Chxrry22 isn’t here to play the victim—she’s playing the game right back. “I won’t show my cards / ‘Cause I know you’re playing yours / Once I hit ignore / That make ’em want me more and more,” she sings, showing off her upper hand.

The Just Like Me music video brings this attitude to life with a fun ski resort vibe where Chxrry22 and her squad are feeling themselves. The visuals match the sexiness of the track, Chxrry22 is the ultimate heartbreaker who knows exactly how to keep them wanting more.

Fresh off her appearance on The Weeknd’s Reflections Laughing and the buzz from her previous hit Poppin Out (Mistakes), Chxrry22 is proving why she’s one of R&B’s most exciting new voices. Her upcoming stint on FLO’s Access All Areas North American Tour will give fans the chance to experience her electrifying presence live.

With lyrics like, “That make ‘em wanna take me out the game / That make ‘em wanna put it in my name,” Chxrry22 sultry, playful, and empowering. Just Like Me is more than just a song—it’s an anthem for anyone who refuses to play by the rules.

Stream Just Like Me now on all major platforms and catch Chxrry22 live when the tour kicks off this spring.
