Nothing will fuck with your sense of self faster than getting so wrapped up in somebody that you start auditioning with a version of yourself you barely recognize. BLØSMM puts ‘Poser’ right inside that ugly little identity crisis, where obsession has already done its damage and the person staring back at you feels suspiciously unfamiliar. The song owns the breakdown without letting it become the ending. Doubt is loud, and she knows the version of herself she built for him is starting to crack. That tension gives ‘Poser’ its bite. Sometimes rock bottom is where you finally stop performing for everybody else and decide whose fucking life this is.
The production on ‘Poser’ pushes alt-rock into pop-punk territory with enough weight to make the emotional spiral feel physical. Andy Gerold and Jim Louvau produced the track, with Sean Beavan handling the mix, and they give BLØSMM a sound that can carry Jordan White when her vocal starts coming apart at the edges. The guitars come in hard while the melody keeps the song moving forward instead of letting all that self-doubt turn into a pity spiral. There is polish here, though the emotion still gets to sweat through it. Good. An identity crisis should fuck up the eyeliner a little.

The opening lyric wastes no time trying to make herself look composed: “I’m pathetic I regret it that I said it / Let’s forget it when I called you mine / I was obsessed now I’m a mess / Depressed I must confess / How could I’ve been so blind? / I’m breaking breaking down.” That is the emotional equivalent of dumping your purse across the bathroom counter and finally admitting you have no idea what the hell happened. The important word is “obsessed.” She gave somebody enough space inside her head that losing him also scrambled her understanding of herself. Then “Don’t make me lose it / I’m falling into you / ’Cause I’m a poser for you” makes the title hurt. She has bent herself around another person long enough to wonder which version was ever real.
Then the fight comes back. “Every winner was a loser / Heart abuser / I refuse to give up the fight” sounds like somebody dragging herself upright while the room is still spinning. That refusal matters more than pretending she suddenly feels fantastic. By “My world is on fire / And I just want to die in your arms tonight / I’m a little unwell / I know that you can tell / Get me off this ride,” Jordan lets the desperation stay messy as hell. She wants relief and still has enough fight left to demand it. ‘Poser’ understands that getting your shit together rarely begins with actually having your shit together.

BLØSMM is the new creative chapter for Jordan White and Brian Dellis after more than a decade making music together in Phoenix rock band Jane N’ The Jungle. The two knew each other growing up, though music brought them together later when Brian caught one of Jordan’s acoustic performances and suggested they start a band. Jordan had already studied musical theater at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, while Brian developed as a self-taught guitarist through punk bands. Jane N’ The Jungle eventually pushed them into modern rock after years of gritty alternative work, and BLØSMM gives that partnership another shape entirely. ‘Poser’ opens their forthcoming concept album Archer and Ego, so starting this era with a song about tearing down an identity that stopped fitting feels pretty damn intentional.
‘Poser’ leaves the fire burning without letting it have the final word. BLØSMM takes that moment when you feel fraudulent as hell and turns it into the beginning of choosing yourself again. Jordan can break down and still refuse to stay there. Maybe being called a poser loses some power once you realize everybody else can keep their expectations. You have better shit to become.
